ESG performance and reporting

Tools and indicators we use to measure our sustainability performance

We are committed to sharing our sustainability results and actions with our stakeholders, promoting positive and continuous dialogue. The ESG performance of Sesa are constantly monitored by international sustainability Rating agencies, socially responsible investors and non-governmental organisations which, through independent assessments, periodically evaluate the effectiveness and consistency of our reporting.

In line with our principle of transparency – a pillar of our sustainable approach to business – each year we set specific sustainability targets, monitor the results, submit them to verification by an independent third party and disclose them in our Sustainability Report.

Reporting Framework

Keeping pace with the constantly evolving landscape of sustainability reporting is very important to the Group. By doing so, we can ensure that we meet the needs of our several stakeholders and communicate effectively with them. To this end, we report in line with the fundamental principles of balance, comparability, accuracy, clarity, completeness, timeliness, reliability, verifiability and relevance.

The Sesa Group's Sustainability Reporting, included in the Integrated Annual Report, is prepared in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 2024/125, which transposes Directive 2464/2022/EU (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive - CSRD), and in accordance with the European sustainability principles (European Sustainability Reporting Standards - ESRS); as well as the requirements of EU Regulation 2020/852 (known as the EU Taxonomy Regulation) and the Delegated Regulations attached.

The Report is also in line with the 2024 priorities on non-financial issues indicated by the European Securities and Market Authority (ESMA) and with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Consolidated Sustainability Reporting

The Sustainability Report reflects our ability to generate value through responsible management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, and our commitment to sustainable and transparent growth.

We began reporting on our commitment in 2018 through the Non-Financial Statement (Legislative Decree 254/2016) and, since 2022, we have been communicating our long-term value creation process through the Integrated Annual Report, linking financial and sustainability information and highlighting the contribution of sustainability to business development and results.

This report focuses on the issues that emerged from the Double Materiality Assessment, which assesses both the impact of ESG issues on the Sesa Group's operations and the effect of our operations on the environment and society. A comprehensive discussion of this topic is available in the section of the website dedicated to "Double Materiality".

In addition, further sustainability information is available on our corporate website, where we present our commitments, actions and performance in the social and environmental fields to our stakeholders, also demonstrating our support for the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations.
