ESG targets

Targets and adaptation strategies for climate change mitigation

Our ESG targets represent a long-term commitment to responsible and transparent practices. Sustainability is a strategic priority for Sesa, acting as a key driver for future business strategies and a crucial element for the Group's success.

Since its establishment, our Group has been characterized by a responsible approach to business with a long-term perspective. The ESG strategy is integrated into the Industrial Plan, combining business growth and financial strength with social and environmental sustainability.

Criteria for assessing our Group's sustainability and impact:

Environment

We have set sustainability targets to further reduce our direct environmental impact, through the purchase of green electricity from third parties and by increasing the share of self-generated electricity from renewable sources, as well as our indirect impact, through a new Sector (Digital Green VAS) dedicated to offering technologies and services that support environmental sustainability.

Governance

We adopt a governance model based on ethics, transparency, and accountability, in line with the principles of our Code of Ethics and Conduct. We promote sustainable, long-term-oriented corporate management by ensuring effective controls, independent assessments, and a clear separation of roles and functions. Our compliance and risk management system guarantees adherence to regulations and the protection of stakeholders.

We believe in a culture of legality and integrity, essential for generating shared and long-term value.

People and Territories

We have always promoted initiatives and projects with a strong social impact, including through the Foundation that bears our name (Sesa Foundation - Fondazione Sesa), combining attention to economic and financial management with a strong focus on people and the social needs of the communities in which we operate. The development of socially oriented activities is a shared asset of the entire Group and is also reflected in the contribution to the promotion and dissemination of digital skills, particularly in the economic sphere, through ongoing collaboration with local institutions such as training bodies, universities, and economic organizations.

We value people as the Group’s main treasure, promoting professional growth, inclusion, and well-being, and we invest in continuous training and skills development, fostering an ethical, safe, and collaborative work environment.

The results of our commitments are reflected in the increased engagement and motivation of human resources and the improvement of risk management and mitigation, which together generate a more sustainable and transparent organization. Creating a positive and inclusive work environment is crucial for innovation and growth, also because a stronger corporate reputation helps attract and retain talent.

We have also set the goal of defining and monitoring specific targets aimed at increasing the representation of women and minorities within the total workforce. The targets reported below are part of our broader sustainability strategy and have been identified with the aim of contributing to the achievement of 8 of the 17 overarching Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reaffirming our commitment to fostering positive global change. The Group’s commitment to sustainability has also been reflected in the integration of key ESG drivers into the variable components of top management’s monetary compensation, with non-financial parameters accounting for approximately 50%.
