Sesa Foundation

Enhancing the value of the territory by promoting innovation, sustainability and shared growth

The Sesa Foundation (italian: Fondazione Sesa) was established in July 2014 as an initiative of the Sesa Group's founding members; created with the aim of establishing an independent organisation dedicated to social solidarity and responsibility. Based in Empoli (Florence), it is a non-profit and third sector organization mainly active in the areas of education, scientific research, schooling, and social and health care, providing a tangible contribution to the well-being of the local community.

The Foundation represents the concrete expression of the Group's social commitment, which translates into actions in support of the community and projects promoting solidarity, education and local development.

As part of its institutional purposes, the Sesa Foundation:

  • promotes and organizes workshops, training courses, events, conferences, study meetings, round tables, and more generally scientific and educational initiatives;
  • promotes and supports education and learning, particularly for young people, also through the provision of scholarships and/or the granting of donations;
  • carries out charitable activities in favor of economically disadvantaged social groups, also but not exclusively within its reference area;
  • promotes charitable initiatives and activities, including healthcare, aimed in particular at contributing to the well-being of Sesa Group employees.
The initiatives and activities of the Sesa Foundation are wide-ranging and fully consistent with its institutional purposes. They include both projects specific to the Foundation and projects carried out on the proposal of local organisations or bodies.

The activity plan of the Foundation aims to strengthen programs dedicated to philanthropy, local community support, and the Sesa Group’s Welfare Plan, with the goal of generating social value and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.

In particular, the Foundation operates in two main areas:

  • Philanthropy and charity, through support for non-profit associations and local organizations that increasingly turn to the Foundation, with special attention to the social inclusion of disadvantaged groups, such as people with disabilities and the elderly;
  • Art and cultural initiatives, through support for local cultural activities and events and the enhancement of the historical, artistic, and environmental heritage of the territory.
